The Impact of Neurology on Wheels in Rural Andhra Pradesh
In 2015, Dr. Menon launched Neurology on Wheels, her pioneering mobile clinic that travels across the roads of Andhra Pradesh, offering specialized neurology to remote villages. Under the slogan “We reach, we teach, we treat”, she and her team conduct awareness sessions on epilepsy and stroke, screen residents, and prescribe free medication—all from a fully equipped van that stops at new villages monthly.
Till March 2024, over 35,000 people have been educated and more than 12,000 patients treated through 234 awareness campaigns and 222 free medical camps.
She has also created “Stroke Help”, “Epilepsy Help”, and “Stroke Connect” apps, along with Tele Awareness Programs—bridging the digital divide and making critical neurological care accessible with just a tap.
