Today, it’s not easy to live healthily when you’re surrounded by so many confusing signals – unhealthy foods disguised as healthy, and an overwhelming amount of information that’s too much to consume and digest. So, what is the best way to stay healthy?

The best way to stay healthy is to be conscious of what you are eating. Let’s break it down:

Say a Permanent ‘No’ to Packaged and Frozen Foods

Packaged foods, frozen foods, and anything that may have food additives are the culprits. These items often contain hidden sugars, unhealthy fats, and preservatives that do more harm than good. If you do this, half of your problem is solved.

And parents, listen up! Keep your kids away from these as well. The eating habits they form now will stick with them for life. Let’s not raise a generation of packaged food aficionados!

Embrace Home Cooking

Home-cooked meals are your best friends. Homemade food, homemade desserts, homemade soups, homemade pizza – the list goes on. When you prepare your meals, you control the ingredients, the portions, and the preparation method. Plus, cooking can be a fun, therapeutic activity.

Practice Mindful Eating

Eating mindfully means paying full attention to the experience of eating and drinking. Notice the colors, smells, textures, flavors, temperatures, and even the sounds (crunch!) of your food. This practice helps you savor your food and prevents overeating.

Avoid Sugar Overload

Watch out for hidden sugars in foods and beverages. Too much sugar can lead to weight gain, diabetes, and other health issues. Opt for natural sweeteners like honey or maple syrup in moderation.
