These chemicals are thought to be responsible for the aphrodisiac, adaptogenic, and antioxidant properties of Safed Musli.

Musli herb’s tuberous roots include nutrients and phytochemicals like carbohydrates, proteins, saponins, alkaloids, and fiber. Musli roots are high in alkaloids, vitamins, and minerals including calcium, potassium, and magnesium. Polysaccharides, resins, phenol, and mucilage are also present. Musli roots also contain simple sugars such as fructose, glucose, galactose, sucrose, xylose, and mannose.
